How to use the Pokémon Champions Team Builder

Search the 80-Pokémon database and select up to six members. Each selection updates the analysis panel immediately, so you can see whether a change improves role balance or creates a new shared weakness. The tool runs entirely in your browser and does not require an account.

Start with the Pokémon you most want to use, then add partners that solve its specific problems. A strong team usually needs more than raw damage. Look for a safe lead, a defensive switch, a way to control move order, and at least two members that can create meaningful knockout pressure. If one Pokémon must be brought into every matchup, the roster may be too dependent on it.

Read role balance before tier letters

The analyzer counts attackers, supports, tanks, and speed-control roles. These labels can overlap because one Pokémon may perform more than one job. Two attackers are a useful starting point, while at least one support often makes setup and switching safer. A tank should still create progress through damage, recovery, redirection, status, or field control; bulk alone is not a complete plan.

Speed control includes roles such as Tailwind, Icy Wind-style drops, paralysis support, and other ways to change move order. Trick Room is shown as a separate team mode. If the roster includes both fast speed control and Trick Room, the tool flags a mixed plan. That is not always wrong, but each group of four must support one clear mode.

Use the weakness summary as a warning

Shared weaknesses show attacking types that threaten two or more selected Pokémon. The count is deliberately simple and does not calculate every dual-type resistance, ability immunity, item, or damage roll. Treat a three-member weakness as a reason to inspect the matchup. You can solve it with a resist, an immunity, faster pressure, redirection, weather, or a reliable defensive switch.

Duplicate types receive a separate warning because repeated typing can narrow defensive options. Two Pokémon sharing a type may still work when their second types, abilities, and roles are different. The point is to understand the cost rather than chase eighteen unique types.

Check Regulation Set M-B and field conflicts

The M-B flag helps prevent you from finishing a team that contains an unavailable entry. It is maintained manually and cannot replace the game’s current legality screen. Forms, Mega Stones, items, and mid-season updates can affect eligibility, so verify the final six before ranked play.

Weather setters are also compared. Sun, rain, sand, and snow overwrite one another, so multiple setters need deliberate timing. Trick Room and fast Tailwind-style teams can coexist as separate modes, but accidentally combining them may help the opponent. Read every warning as a question about your plan, not an automatic error.

Copy and share your team

Copy Team creates a readable list with names, roles, and recommended items. Share URL stores the selected slugs in the address, making it easy to send a draft to a friend or reopen it on another device. Parameter URLs are user tools and are not separate indexable SEO pages; the canonical remains the main Team Builder URL.

Builder FAQ

Team analysis questions

How many Pokémon can I add?

You can select up to six unique Pokémon. Remove a member or clear the team whenever you want to test a different structure.

Does the Team Builder check Regulation Set M-B legality?

Yes. It warns when a selected Pokémon is not marked legal in the local M-B planning data. The in-game regulation checker remains the final authority.

How is the beginner score calculated?

The score is the percentage of selected Pokémon marked beginner friendly. It measures approachability, not team power or guaranteed results.

What does a shared weakness mean?

The summary counts attacking types that can hit two or more team members super effectively. Dual-type interactions are simplified, so use it as an early warning rather than a damage calculator.

How do I share a team?

Select your team and choose Share URL. The tool adds the six slugs to the page URL and copies that link so the same lineup opens for another player.
